The main aim we wanted to achieve for the people during the ‚launching’ of the Coal Market (Targ Węglowy)  was to start a series of consultations concerning potential and expected usage of the Square and a social discussion on the city as a space designed for the people. The City Culture Institute and the Unit for Social Innovation and Research ‚Stocznia’ have created a survey for the citizens that can be filled at the Coal Market (Targ Węglowy) .

Citizens and visitors are positive about changes made at the Square. They give different opinions and suggestions concerning potential functions of the place. Over 200 surveys have been collected at the office for information and consultation and there is still more and more of them. We encourage everybody to come and share their ideas. When the event is over, the surveys will be summarized, published on our website www.ikm.gda.pl and given to the city authorities. During open meetings with the citizens, different guests will be present: Paweł Adamowicz — President of the City of Gdańsk, Jarosław Paczos and Karol Spieglanin from FRAG (Forum for the Development of the Agglomeration of the City of Gdańsk), Piotr Kowalczuk — Representative of the President of Gdańsk for Social Initiatives and Consultations, Jacek Dominiczak — professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Grzegorz Sulikowski — Vice-Director of the City Department of Urban Design, Architecture, and Monuments Protection, Dariusz Słodkowski — City Counselor, the Chairman of the Commission for the City Revitalization.
